 There are many ways to do most tasks. Below is a collective of videos that explain in their own depth just what you need in order to  survive a major disaster or catastrophe such as the prophecy of Dec 21, 2012.

 This next video is a little long but it basically shows Mathew Stein author of "When technology fails" and what he considered to be important in his kit. I managed to get a few ideas from his inventory but some I decided to take a chance on.
